How all this petal talk began...

My name is Heather and I started working for a local, family owned florist in 2000 in Manchester, NH. The land of 'Live Free or Die' is home to me and this where it all began. It was here that I learned 'dead heading' was essential to a plant's healthy and long life. It was here that I got my hands dirty in floral design, while playing a variety of intramural sports. This ultimately stemmed (see what I did there?!) the desire to work with and help translate to my event and wedding work in Philadelphia. Helping to create and design wedding decor, bridal flowers and other event details along the way! For about 5 years I helped to make visions and dreams come to reality while connecting with some of the most talented and kind individuals I've met. This not only served as my root system but a foundation for a life ahead full of flowers and love.

Ok so where does yoga come in? A foundation - as I mentioned above, I found in NH. I started gymnastics when I was 5 years old. Tumbling, twirling, balancing, swinging and jumping on anything I could - including the several sets of jungle gyms and monkey bars that I was fortunate to have. If it wasn’t gymnastics it was soccer, if not soccer it was softball. Always something to keep us moving and active! As times progressed so did my level of competition in gymnastics and I was left with a choice - continue to compete full time (each weeknight and weekend consisted of practice time) or let this go completely. Something I had known and participated for the last 8 years of my life.  I mean, come on, at 13 years old - wasn't this the hardest decision of my life?! Yes!! I made the choice. I stopped gymnastics and continued to play soccer year round.

Let's fast forward to several years later …several years later... maybe 2008 or so? I started noticing something popping up around Philly... (ok maybe I was late to this yoga game, but I was intrigued). Local, small studios...what was this I thought? Gymnastics for adults?! SIGN ME UP!! I was hooked. All forms.. Let me sweat, cry, breathe .. fast or slow I finally found my inner child again and I cannot tell you how grateful and excited I am to share this with you. I've tried many studios (from Philly, to Denver, to Rome!) and found myself a warm, community home with Philly Power Yoga. This studio provided me with the life changing opportunity to earn my 200 hour yoga certification in 2018.

I’ve been humbled to lead short yoga flows for bridal parties and groups on the morning of their big day or the weekend of. This has allowed them to truly let go - taking a moment to be present, breathe and relax - even if for a a couple minutes … a little pop of bubbly following the flow and they’re ready to shine and smile through the next couple non-stop days.

It is experiences like this that leave my soul warm and yearning to give more back. So this is what I'm doing for you - for your friends - your family and my community. Currently offering private and group yoga classes as well as design services for window boxes and planters.

Let's chat more and create movement, breath and beauty!
